High above the sea, The Lady of the Land First brought me here The mermaid of the ocean Lives within the deep For you, safe she plans to keep She will speak when she can But mostly sings her song, The guardian of the waters, Protector of it all She will take you back to land. If you look close enough You'll understand why, They are feared by gentle folk, And hunted, so they cry. Lady Lyn 2002© Woodland Faeries Deep within the forest, Seldom seen by humans Dwell the woodland creatures. Mostly seen by children. But if you look close enough You too may see them there, They are mostly happy folk, Living out of site, But will come and play with you, In the happiness of night. You may see them dancing Or maybe when in flight, So count the faeries That you happen across It may only happen once To spot the wee folk Happens only unbelievably by chance.
